Water is an inseparable element of human being. Through history, mainly due to agricultural irrigation reasons villages, towns, cities all emerged along rivers and some of those settlements became great civilisations of the world by time.
Niles in Africa, Mississipi and Amazon in America, Meander and Cayster rivers in Aegean region of Anatolia (mainland, Asian part of modern Turkey, also called as Asia Minor historically) all flourished immense agricultural lands around them and allowed significant civilizations to develope with their generous prosperity.
Inspired by water and rivers, named as Rivus, ICI Rivus Patchwork Collection presents dynamism of movement and flow. Specially the multi colored patchworks of the collection imitates reflection of light on water.
Nebulously seaming, mostly floral patterns of original hand spun and hand knotted antique carpets softens sharp lines and enriches beauty of the carpets.
Linear, rectangular panels of the patchworks recalls timbers flowing in rivers while herringbone patterns among them perfectly reflect water flow.
With monochrome and polychrome options, the collection available in eight pastel, earthy colors.
