106-107-HARENA & SIDERA PATCHWORK COLLECTION
ICI HARENA & SIDERA PATCHWORK COLLECTIONS

Diverse and affluent weaving culture and heritage of Anatolia (mainland of modern Turkey, also named as Asia Minor historically) presents striking differences region by region, city by city even village by village.

Plain, archaic simple kilims of Mediterranean region, particularly Taurus Mountains are very typical regional weavings made out of regional natural materials: goats' hair & cotton.

Black goats' hair attained from goats gazing on the slopes and heights of Taurus Mountains is hand spun together with white cotton of immense Cilicia Plain. Then they are woven as kilims. The gritty textured pieces were used by nomads for centuries for many purposes.

Iterative, dark colored stripes, embroidered, burdock and helical patterns are the most common ornaments of those regional kilims.

Redesigned as ICI Harena & Sidera patchwork collections primitive, super natural, coarse kilims of Taurus mountains bring back the soul of nomadic life within a contemporary frame.

A perfect attestation for balanced and congruous combination of flora and fauna ICI Harena & Sidera patchwork collections are available in 16 mostly muted, pastel, a little bit darkened colors with and without stripe options.
